Tej Grover is an ambitious student at the American Embassy School in New Delhi, India where he thrives on balancing his academics — with a keen interest in Math, Science, and Technology — with his participation in extracurriculars including public speaking, creative writing, singing, and photography. Tej is an accomplished mathematician with numerous Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Merit national and international awards in Math and Science olympiads. He has further honed his interest in the subject via participation in the credit-bearing ‘Foundational Mathematics of Artificial Intelligence’ course offered at Johns Hopkins University by JHU Pre-College, where he received an A grade and a GPA of 4.0 along with a certificate of achievement.
He has also participated in several essay competitions, notably winning a 20% scholarship for the Immerse Education Essay Competition in August 2023 as a prize for his essay on how algorithms shape the online information we see. Additionally, he has led his team to the Global Round of the World Scholar’s Cup debate competition in Doha and also participated in the Yale Invitational Lincoln Douglas Debate and the Stanford Invitational Lincoln Douglas Debate, drawing on his learnings from programs including The Leadership Competition and World Debate Stars by the Harvard MUN Team. Tej continues to pursue these interests through active participation in school clubs at AES including the Math Club, Economics Club, Robotics Club, and MESAC Academic Games Club, and via his role as Chief Editor of Roar Replay, the school’s YouTube and Instagram channel. Looking ahead, he is passionate about using his diverse skills in leading meaningful social impact through Wheels of Change to empower disabled children so they too have access to resources that pave the way for equal opportunity, inclusion, and positive change.
